Paradise Tours are especially suited for visitors with small children, those who experience claustrophobia or have physical mobility challenges. Not only does this route avoid the vertical climb to access the cave and the 600 stairs, bending, tight spaces of the Classic Tour, but it is also the only option that views the largest, most decorated area of the Cave, the Paradise Room.
Visitors should plan on arriving at the upper visitor at least 30 minutes prior to tour time.
Visitors must not bring or wear any item that was already in another cave or mine.
This tour consists of a ½ mile approach on gravel, 14 stair steps total with a handrail, and the returning ½ mile.
The $8 park entry fee still applies for non-resident vehicles.

The Classic Tour begins with a 3/4 mile walk uphill 300 feet in elevation to reach the cave entrance. Visitors must complete this within 1/2 hr to be eligible; most can walk this in 15 or 20 min.
Visitors travel nearly 3/4 mile of highly decorated cave passageways. Turn, bend, duck - waddle and even slide along this adventurous route while a guide interprets the underground splendor of various rooms including Decision Rock, the Cathedral Room, the Pit, Garden of the Gods, and the Brown Waterfall Room! There are over 600 stairs throughout the cave. A flat, 1/2 mile gravel walk back to the visitor center concludes the tour. Total distance: 2 miles.
Visitors will pass near a nursery colony of bats. White nose syndrome, a fungus that affects bats but not people, has reached Montana. Bat mortalities from the disease are higher than 80%. Managers are requiring precautions from visitors to reduce additional stressors to this fragile cave resource:
